Kava awarded Gold by the Fair Payment Code
We’re proud to share that Kava is one of just 213 UK businesses to receive a Gold Award from the Fair Payment Code, recognising our commitment to paying our freelancers and suppliers on time or earlier.
The UK Government-backed Fair Payment Code rewards businesses that adopt fair and quick payments to suppliers. Since its launch in 2024, they’ve awarded over 350 businesses of all sizes and across a range of industries. Prior to this new award, we were accredited by the Prompt Payment Code.
The Fair Payment Code award tiers are based on how quickly suppliers are paid and the percentage of invoices paid:
- Gold Award: at least 95% of all invoices paid within 30 days
- Silver Award: at least 95% of all invoices paid within 60 days, including at least 95% of invoices to small businesses (with fewer than 50 employees) within 30 days
- Bronze Award: at least 95% of all invoices paid within 60 days
There are no charges associated with this award. The Fair Payment Code simply expects businesses that participate to be clear, fair, and collaborative with their suppliers.
Our commitment
To receive Gold standard recognition, it was important that when submitting our application, we were as transparent and open as possible, providing exact figures of all our invoices where we’ve paid our suppliers and freelancers.
We believe freelancers deserve the same respect and reliability as our full-time employees. Many of our freelancers have been working with us for years, and we’re proud to have them alongside us as we grow.
Being awarded Gold also demonstrates our ongoing dedication to best business practices and to supporting freelancers in the creative industry.
And it’s part of our broader mission to do good business – having recently become a certified B Corp. This certification underscores our commitment to supporting small and local businesses that rely on regular and prompt payments to operate effectively.
